Here is a recent press release about our button production:

Lenticular campaign buttons are making a comeback. Lenticular buttons use a process in which two different images are printed on the button and then alternate from view when tilted.

This recent resurgence in popularity is due to the fact that it is no longer necessary to purchase these in mass quantities thanks to The Magic Picture Company.  Chris Skeeles, director of magicpicturecompany.com says his clients are attracted by the fact that there is no  minimum on custom orders. The minimum quantity requirements of other companies are in the thousands of pieces.

Almost considered nostalgic, lenticular buttons have been around a long time. Sometimes called flashers, flickers or blinkers, these eye catching pinbacks saw their political peak in the 60’s, campaigning for the likes of Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon.

The Magic Picture Company  also serves local school districts, sports booster clubs, and charities with customized fund-raising lenticular buttons. We have been providing custom lenticular imaging services since 2003.

Ultracool Ultrasound Sonogram Idea http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/31/ultracool-idea-for-ultrasound-sonogram/ http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/31/ultracool-idea-for-ultrasound-sonogram/#comments Fri, 31 Jul 2009 14:22:09 +0000 Administrator http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/?p=32 As a parent I never forget the first time I saw our child, it was via an Ultrasound Sonogram machine. Albeit the image wasn’t the best, it was in fact our baby in her mothers womb just waiting for her big debut.

Much to our delight the nurse offered to print out a copy of the picture for us. Years later we still have that image tucked away in our “Baby’s First Year” album, that is until recently.

Not too long ago I had a customer come in with a copy of an ultrasound sonogram of their baby and a current photo of the same child now 18 months or so old. She asked whether or not these to images would work as a Magic Picture and I replied: “Of course! It works using any to photos!”

Wow! What an effect! It was so cool that I asked her if we could display a copy in our showroom. She said she would be honored! Everyone who sees this combination compliments it an claims it is the coolest, and perhaps the only thing they have ever seen done with an ultrasound sonogram print.

Here is what the picture looks like:

A gift for our Baseball Coaches http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/16/a-gift-for-our-baseball-coaches/ http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/16/a-gift-for-our-baseball-coaches/#comments Thu, 16 Jul 2009 15:23:25 +0000 Administrator http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/?p=25 As a father of two children who are both active in sports I appreciate the time and effort that the coaches of their little league teams donate each year. It is a commitment that should not go unrecognized!

For years we struggled to find a nice, meaningful gift that would reflect our gratitude. That’s when we came up with the idea of a Magic Picture featuring the coach and the team! We used the traditional team photo that is taken each year, and combined it with a picture of them actually coaching!

It was simple and really fun. For each game the coaches gather the kids into a big circle and do a “1-2-3 Lets Go!” cheer. Knowing this was the routine it was easy for me to be in the right place for the shot.  Look at the resulting Magic Picture one way to see the team, look the other way and see the hurrah!

The reaction was great. The coaches loved it and showed it around to everyone at the ball field. Not only was it a great gift, we don’t need to think very hard every year as to how to show our appreciation, its just Magic!

Turn 3 into 2 to make 1. http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/10/turn-3-into-2-to-make-1/ http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/10/turn-3-into-2-to-make-1/#comments Fri, 10 Jul 2009 17:32:22 +0000 Administrator http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/?p=22 You have seen where we take photos and make a Magic Picture that transitions between the two images. Did you know that we can add or remove people to/from your pictures as well?

Take this newlywed couple for instance. The parents wanted to provide them a unique wedding gift. They have the engagement photo that was submitted to the newspaper, but that is about it. I suggested that they also bring a single photo of each of them when they were young.

We then pose the two young photos together to make them appear as if they knew each other when they were children. We then mix in the engagement photo and suddley you have a one of a kind wedding present!

“Horse to Harley” starts trend. http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/09/horse-to-harley-magic-picture-starts-trend/ http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/2009/07/09/horse-to-harley-magic-picture-starts-trend/#comments Thu, 09 Jul 2009 20:25:06 +0000 Administrator http://magicpicturecompany.com/blog/?p=16 Our showroom at The Hartville Marketplace is packed with example Magic Pictures, over 100 in fact, but one really seems to catch the attention of all who pass. We have nicknamed it “Horsepower”.

It is a picture of my father as a child sitting on a pony. It then transitions to him all grown up sitting on his Harley Davidson. Turns out, there are alot of motorcyclists who apparently have a photo of themselves perched upon a pony! The story is there used to be a fellow who went door-to-door with his pony and a camera and for $1 you could have your picture taken with him. I guess he got around!

I mention this because in the past couple of months I have made a dozen or so Magic Pictures that feature this same combination.

So I thought I would share it with you:
